Builders Clubs are encouraged to participate in a variety of projects. There are a few opportunities throughout the year to be recognized by Kiwanis International with a banner patch. Here are some ideas to help you earn yours:
- Honored and Distinguished Club Recognition: The Builders Club Annual Achievement Report captures a club’s activities throughout the year. It reinforces the mission and value of the program and rewards clubs for dedication to service to school and community, fundraising and donation activities, and Kiwanis-family activities. The report is due by June 30. See form for complete details.
- March for Babies, formally WalkAmerica, is one of America’s favorite fundraising and walking events! Builders Clubs are encouraged to participate in their local walk and can earn a banner patch by raising more than $250. Visit March of Dimes to sign up online and to find the date and location in your area. On the site, you can register as a new or returning walker. Make sure you register as a Builders Club team! If you have any questions, contact your local March of Dimes chapter. Find your local chapter by entering your ZIP code under “find an event.”
- In September, each Builders Club will receive a personalized kit that contains its Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box, stickers, posters and more. You can learn more the partnership with UNICEF online at www.unicefusa.org/keyclub. Clubs raising US$250 or more are eligible for a banner patch.
- Clubs submitting a scrapbook to their district administrator for the annual contests will receive a Scrapbook Patch in the fall of the following year. Review contest information and decide which contest to enter. Banner patches are sent as recognition for a couple of the contest categories.
