Thanks to all the Builders Club clubs that participated in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! Because of your hard work and generosity, Builders Club raised more than US$2,000 to support UNICEF’s work in making sure young children in Zambia, a southeastern African nation, have the best possible start in life.
Builders Club is helping Key Club International, the Kiwanis family program for youth ages 14-18, raise money for Start Strong: Zambia — Key Club’s initiative in support of UNICEF USA. In Zambia, three out of four first-grade students aren’t ready for school because they haven’t received proper nutrition, health care and learning opportunities.
Through this project, Builders Club members are helping:
- Build community centers where children can learn and play.
- Train volunteers, health care providers and teachers.
- Provide toys and books to encourage development and strengthen bonds between parents and children.
Congratulations to the clubs that raised the most money during Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF:
- Lincoln Junior High School, Lincoln, Illinois, U.S., Illinois-Eastern Iowa District: US$600.
- Big Walnut Middle School, Sunbury, Ohio, U.S., Ohio District: US$350.
- St. John’s School, Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S., Nebraska-Iowa District: US$317.
Key Club has a variety of resources for educating Builders Club members about Start Strong: Zambia. Remember, clubs can participate in fundraising year-round!
