  • Nick’s Worldwide Day of Play 2012

    Are you ready to play?

Get ready, get set, get kids active! Team up with Nickelodeon for its 9th annual Worldwide Day of Play as it encourages kids to turn off their TVs and video games and enjoy physical activities.

Worldwide Day of Play is coming up on October 6, but it’s not too late to host an event! Your club can pick any fun, physical activity that you enjoy doing—dancing, playing Frisbee, hula-hooping, swimming, or roller skating to name a few—and create your own Worldwide Day of Play event. Invite other Kiwanis-family members, neighbors and students from schools in your area to participate.

Need more ideas? Check out for tips. And while you’re online, don’t forget to register your event online for a chance to see your group’s name on TV!

  • Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF to benefit The Eliminate Project

In 2011, Kiwanis-family clubs—including Builders Clubs—participated in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and raised more than US$600,000 to support The Eliminate Project. This translates to saving or protecting more than 333,000 mothers and their future children from maternal and neonatal tetanus. That’s amazing! And it shows the power of people of all ages to help children around the world.

Again this year, Builders Clubs are participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. If your club has participated in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF the past two years, watch the mail for your fundraising kit, which includes 50 design-your-own collection boxes. Visit the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF page on The Eliminate Project’s website to learn more, to see if your club is on the mailing list to receive a fundraising kit, or to order supplies.
