Service project interviews

An advisor inspires club members to find their inner passion for service and to become leaders. A great way to do this: allow club members to plan every step of the club’s service projects.

The first step to a student-led service project is for members to complete service project interviews. Have club members interview people in the school and community to get a better idea of what service projects are needed. Once this research is completed, have members share their findings with each other and discuss which causes they would like to support during the Builders Club year. The club should then decide how many—and which—service projects they will plan for the year and set a timeline for each one. When members make the club’s decisions, they will be more closely connected to the core issues they’re addressing. And they will be more invested in their projects’ success.
